Alana N. Herlands joined Insignia Films in 2018. She holds a Bachelor of the Arts in Documentary Studies & Production from Ithaca College. One of her films, Confessions of a Sugar Baby, explored the unique dating lives of three women who have never met, yet they have eerily similar backgrounds of domestic abuse. In 2018, it was selected to screen at the Los Angeles Women’s International Film Festival and was pre-selected for the Washington Film Festival and the New York State Film Festival. For her thesis film, Alana produced a short film, Clean Plate, about our changing relationship with food and what that means about the future of our planet. Alana is extremely passionate about meditation, climate change, and making lower waste options and general environmental literacy accessible to everyone.
