Lizzy McGlynn, Archival Producer

Lizzy McGlynn has been an ardent consumer of public broadcasting since childhood. So after a false start in academia, Lizzy knew she needed to switch gears to focus on documentary content. She cut her teeth at WNET and WNYC, New York’s flagship public television and public radio outlets. To this day, her stint researching topics and screening calls at the WNYC radio daily call-in program “The Brian Lehrer Show” ranks among the most fun jobs ever. Eventually, Lizzy left the nest for independent documentary feature films where she worked on every aspect of documentary production. While producing soup to nuts, she delved into different topics including 20th century printmaking, 60’s singer Phil Ochs, and the sordid world of American fame. A born researcher and a spreadsheet guru, she gravitated towards archival research and licensing, eventually opting to make a career of it. Lizzy has concentrated on consulting and producing archival for the past five years. She especially enjoys working with editors and the post production team. She was thrilled to join insignia films in 2015 as the Archival Producer for the upcoming three-part series on WWI.

Lizzy graduated magna cum laude with a BA from the Honors Program at the University of North Texas.  She also holds an MFA in Television Production from Brooklyn College.
